I Hugged the Creator of Katamari Damacy!

I went to the Tokyo Game Show last week. Officially I was there to talk about my game The Unfinished Swan and another game I worked on, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, which were showcased in the TGS Sense of Wonder Night. But mostly I went so I could give Keita Takahashi, one of the SOWN judges and the creator of Katamari Damacy, a big hug.

Mission accomplished! Finally, my ecstatic love for Keita Takahashi is no longer a secret!

That’s awesome! Katamari Damacy is THE game that got me so interested in games that dumped all of the conventions and created something truly unique and wonderful.

I always have a hard time explaining to people why rolling a ball and picking up paperclips and erasers as the “peewee prince” is fun, but oh well.

Keep up the good work on your game, too. Looks REALLY cool and unique.

Katamari Damacy just breaks lots of bounds, that makes it a wonderful game. This game is very fun.
Your game is awesome too. The idea is brilliant. That’s something I really want to try ! I’ll check the blog weekly, I don’t want to miss any sing piece of news about the development 🙂

That’s cool that you met him:)

Never played Katamari Damacy, but couldn’t stop playing ‘We Love Katamari’ on the PS2.

Looking forward to Beautiful Katamari and your Unfinished Swan, although I guess I won’t be seeing either on the PS3 anytime soon…
